  1. When it says "southern fashion houses" do you think it means Italy, Texas, London or South Ronaldsay?

It may have made you laugh, but it also got your attention, which was the purpose! It's interesting to see one poet (Robert Rendall, the owner of the shop) adapting another (Tennyson) for an advert. The original, in 'Locksley Hall', is "In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love" (which, I confess, I didn't know until I looked it up just now. Thank you, Google!).

  3. Query: is the hat shop still in business? We found my mom's big picture hat which she wore in her wedding in 1947. Sadly, it is squashed and needs to be repaired before it's wearable. So I'm looking for a place, though in reality Orkney may be a little too far away. But I could come visit, and bring Mom's hat! ^_^

    Sue.
